Night Drive: a comic

Look at this beautiful, hand-sketched comic book from artist/illustrator Lottie Pencheon called “Night Drive”. It’s so short and lovely and heartwarming.

“Mum,” asks the child, “why is the moon following us?” WHY indeed! A question I have often asked myself, lolling in the backseat in the dark on long drives home from the north.

Little things like this – the ease of a single question, the quick realisation of a piece of art – are so inspiring, they make you just want to grab a pencil and move away from the screen. And the happenstance of it all because of the wonderful internet – I was looking for badger pictures when I found Lottie. She does a pretty neat lino cut of a badger too.
